Fumbling through break

A woefully long time has passed since my last post to the blog. Rather than lament, I shall type on with today's post. I am currently on 'spring break' mid-way through the spring teaching term at the local college. I have leisured and lounged much each day, juxtaposed against crafting and baking (and even a bit of grading).
This morning I sewed on a patchwork quilt top project I have been slowly advancing over the last 17 years or so. I work much on it in the first few years, then is sat unattended in closets after each move for a few years, now I am determined to finish it this year. I have the backing and batting bought, so as soon as ever the top is completed I can layer and quilt.
Mid-day I worked on mending a quilt that, though finished, was coming apart a bit at the seems after years of providing snuggly warmth on my bed. I intend to have all the patching done by the end of the upcoming weekend, so I can get it back on my bed for these cold March nights.
This afternoon I finished a mixed media on canvas painting.
Earlier in the week I have knitted and baked - so all in all a creative week.
I have not had the attention span to read, I sit down to it, but a few paragraphs in I find my mind has wandered and I have no idea what I have read.
I know that my mind cycles through interests, and there is a season to every occupation. I find the most satisfaction and creative outlet, when I allow myself to pursue what lures me rather than forcing myself to turn my hand at a project on which I struggle to focus.
Perhaps that is why I have so many different types of craft on offer at once - moods and meanderings drive the creative process for me.
