Barefoot in November
I live in a northern region; an area rich in seasonal cycles and temperature variance. Typically by mid-November I am bundled in woolen socks and outerwear to project against the chilling temperatures.
Today, November 14, 2016 - I am seated at the table in my back yard basking in the sunshine and breezy 68 degree Farenheit temperature. My freshly washed clothes hang on the line to dry, and the birds twitterpate in the background. I am wearing what I think of as my Irish country garb: a brightly colored dress, a woolly vest and Wellies, before I toke them off to walk comfortably barefoot.
I am enjoying the mild weather juxtaposed against the silohettes of trees that already dropped all leaves, a green lawn heavily carpeted with shriveled oak leaves, and the multi-color glory of the trees still clinging to leaves without chlorophyll.
After this post reflecting on the glories of autumn in my yard, I will settle down to work promoting Wren & Ignacio, my book. I am crafting an excerpt to share to Good Reads, and putting the final approval on the revision to make the book available for wide sale. I refer people directly to Lulu.com for direct purchase, even though the title can be found in a variety of places.
Being an active author involves a large commitment of time both in and beyond the writing. I enjoy the role and responsibilities, even as I learn to navigate the nuances.
