I am currently read and taking notes from Lee Allen Peterson's guide to Edible Wild Plants [of] Eastern / Central North America. Houghton Mifflin published the book in 1977, and it is still in active print.
I find the book well organized, clear, concise, and accurate. The line drawings are crisp and well executed, bringing details of the plant clearly to life. The photos are of excellent quality as well.

I enjoy the order [structure] of the book.  The introduction provides a well stated 'How to use this book' section.  The ordering makes sense, making the content easily accessible.

I think this book may move from 'library borrow' to personal ownership soon.
