'Being there', even from here

I have a friend who is far away, geographically.  I wish that I could spend some time with him.  We could chat face to face, share some laughter, silence, and stories of life.  I think he could use a cheer up, and I could use company.  Funny old thing the space time continuum.  Would that I had the knack of bending it to my whim, for I would visit him.
