Planning the book release party

I have decided to host a book release party.
I need to find an affordable venue.
Plan the menu.
Make the postcards.
Set-up a computer station for on-line purchases
Order books to have on hand for folks who want to buy them there, at the party

Should there be door prizes? no, maybe?
I will set up board game section of tables
Bridge section of tables
and a knitting section for relaxed conversational knitting.

I am thinking early December - that is 1 month. Yikes!

Initial menu thoughts:
mini meatballs
mini quiche
cupcake bites?  wait, no, truffles?
veggies - in wine glasses, or fancy stemware
cheese cubes? crackers? pretzels?

wine
beer
sparkling water, plain and flavored
fruit juice
iced tea

water boiler and tea? coffee?
